You seemed to be searching for answers and justification. It isn't an easy issue.

In fact I have found that the American left have never been wont to apply much energy to pursue justice for the Palestinian people. I remember when the "Winter Soldier" ,the paper of the VVAW/WSO from the '70's,
printed an article on the Palestinian struggle, contributions dried up. I was told anyhow.

After the end of the apartheid regime in So. Africa, I thouhgt, well now it is time for Palestine. I mentioned this to a "leader" of the left group I was working with, only to get a dismissive answer.

You seemed to raise the fear of an repressive Islamic regime in your back and forth with the commenter.
Carl, we have created the extremists by giving flaccid support to Palestinians. The PLO has been left behind as young people growing up without a future in Gaza or the Bank, look to fight by any means possible.

This happened in the history as the USA was grabbing Indian land. Older Tribal leaders could not convince younger warriors to accept treaties made with liars and thieves. You could say that acts of "terrorism" were commited out of frustration.

Not to belabor this issue but I realize that the hollywood types and the very Democratic party are fearful of the power of the pro-zionist lobby. So they stay quiet. Except for former Pres. Carter!

So a President Obama , who now should know that Jerulselem is not the capital of Israel, will most likely commission a policy group to "study" the issue, ask for a "summit" and blah blah blah.

I swear , a Palestinian has got to be the most despised person in the world. Only the fringe leftists who crankout unreadable leaflets consistantly support them.

I want to be free of the terrorist threat posed by my Government's support of Israel. Hard to understand?

It is not my concern to support a "Jewish" state. Or an Islamic one for that matter.

thanks for letting me vent,
from a old brooklyn "fightback" dude.ajhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14756099411383827753noreply@blogger.com
